We Love Glasgow!

If you are looking for a couple of concerts or club nights to let you let loose and take advantage of a couple of days off, then here is my top pick of events happening in Glasgow this week:

03/11/2014 – The Wailers @ O2 ABC – Not much needs to be said about this, most of Bob Marleys’ original backing band are still touring the world and keeping the Reggae sound alive. This time the are performing the album “Legend” in its entirety.

04/11/2014 – Future Islands @ O2 ABC – This American Synth-Pop band have been around for many years now but after an awe inspiring performance on American televisions Letterman, this band have gone viral and are making their biggest UK tour to date.

05/11/2014 – Sleaford Mods @ Broadcast – The Nottingham duo are coming to Glasgow with their looping electronic rhythms and melodies combined with their Mark E Smith-esque ranting and toilet bowl outlook on life. This is bound to be a mid-week treat and possibly open your eyes to something new.

06/11/2014 – Richy Ahmed @ Subclub – Richy Ahmed is at the forefront of a new wave of British DJs, who are re-defining house music taking cues from Disco, Techno, Funk and Hip-Hop. Another showcase for Subclub to brag about.

07/11/2014 – Shabazz Palaces @ Nice N Sleazys – This is pick of the week for me, I consider their debut album a masterpiece and their second album I’m sure won’t be far off again. Touring second album, “Lese Majesty”, the experimental Hip-Hop duo from Seattle are playing this amazingly intimate show on a night made for partying to start.

08/11/2014 – French Express Tour @ St Judes – A cracking Saturday night lined up for St Judes on Bath St, this night will include up and coing names including: Jonas Rathsman, Moon Boots and Isaac Tichauer.

09/11/2014 – Fly Club @ Subclub – Residents of the Fly Club will take you through a Sunday night of brilliant tunes and allow you to continue with the partying if you happen to have a long weekend on the cards. They have aptly named their night “We’re No Going To The MTV Party”.

In a city with so much to offer, some of these were difficult choices but I hope it helps in the search for fulfilment.
